Who We Are

Rednal Community Trails was founded by 3 Rednal Locals who wanted to do something fun and bring a bit of joy back to the community following the difficult times experienced throughout covid lockdowns.

We started with Halloween 2021, and the first Trick or Treat trail which was a huge success. It saw more than 200 local children knocking on the doors of the many houses who joined the trail.
We then followed with a Christmas lights trail that ran for a week throughout December 2021 which was enjoyed by many local families.

Following the success of our first trails in 2021 and 2022 we are back for 2023 with another Halloween Trick or Treat trail that will hopefully see more and more families in and around Rednal getting involved

We have lots of ideas for the future and there will be more fun trails for the community to enjoy in the coming months, including plans to incorporate fundraising for local charities and good causes within our trail events.

We are excited to be a part of something bringing the community together and spreading a little happiness to everyone

MEET THE TEAM
Samantha

My partner and I, live in Rednal with our son and daughter. We moved to the area 2 years ago. I have always worked in hospitality and spent most holidays planning Childrens events, Halloween being our favourite. I was really pleased to be able to get involved in the rednal trails when I saw it suggested, it’s been a great way to learn about the area we had recently moved too and meet more local people.

I do a lot of work in advertisement and marketing and have enjoyed helping the rednal trails to grow so more families can be involved. I design and produce our advertising materials and help develop ideas for the events.

Jenni-Emily

I live in Rednal with my partner and son. I have more than 15 years experience in fundraising and events planning and love doing things to make others smile. We are a Halloween loving family and always do the house up and make up treats for kids who knock the door - we like to go a little OTT but love to see kids reactions when we hand over the treats! In 2021, after a rough couple of years for everyone, we wanted to go bigger and do something to involve the whole community.

So, i put a post up on Facebook asking if anyone would be interested in helping organise a trick or treat trail. Richard and Samantha quickly got involved and Rednal Community Trails was born! I manage our Facebook page/social media & communications along with developing ideas for the trails and fundraising.

Richard

I live with my wife and 3 girls in Rednal. I started a crazy Christmas lights hobby during the pandemic which ended up being a crazy Halloween light show as well (and has grown even more since!).

I saw Jenni's post on facebook and immediately wanted to get involved because it's a great community event for the kids and i felt i could help make it happen.

I was able to bring valuable IT expertise to the team, and am the resident web designer. I set up and manage our website and look after all of the related aspects including our awesome interactive online trail map.
